What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
Over the course of 100 years, the American legal system has developed itself into a very complicated and amorphous thing. It is very difficult to understand to those who have not been properly educated in the legal system. While we applaud the effort of those who try to take their destiny in their own hands in regards to the legal system, we worry about the risk they take by doing so. While we appreciate the economic times we are in, please know that our office will always work with someone to try and fit their legal needs into their budget.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Mr. Benari is always willing to do so and that will generally be complete reviews at either his normal hourly rate or on a flat fee basis, depending on the length of the document.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
At this time, our firm's policy is not to do so.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
To help people be a part of the system that makes and interprets the rules that we all live by day by day.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I have a degree in public argument. Also I was very argumentative as a child and everyone who knew me thought I would become successful as a lawyer. I was always very opinionated and willing to argue my case.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
We started out as business lawyers, and with the success we had on the behalf of business owners, more and more often we were being asked to represent those owners and their employees in both family and criminal matters which is how those two areas of the practice were born.
What do you like best about your career?
Being able to help our clients navigate a very complicated legal system in order to help them achieve their goals.
Tell us about your law firm:
Each of our attorneys and our support staff were handpicked by the managing partner, Arik Benari. We work as a team where discipline, perseverance, and attention to detail are at the core of our efforts on every case.
What are your strengths and style?
Our strengths are clearly our ability to make sure our clients understand exactly what is going on at every point in their case and to make sure that they are part of the decision making and negotiation processes at all times.
Personal Interests:
Mr. Benari spends much of his free time with his son, but when outside the office can often be found training both law enforcement and rape victims in self-defense and other areas of martial arts. Mr. Benari is also an aspiring author and has a few transcripts in the works.
