Example Cases

I have helped hundreds of clients through the process of filing and completing their Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, giving them a discharge and a fresh start. I have an extensive track record of getting favorable results in audit defense matters, including "no change" letters in IRS examinations and resolving state tax disputes, saving my clients millions of dollars in tax liability. As far as my aviation tax practice is concerned, I have closed hundreds of aircraft transactions involving everything from light sport aircraft to Fortune 100 business jets.

Firm Focus and History

Good Attorneys At Law, P.A. counsels clients in aviation tax, IRS defense, tax resolution, sales and use tax and other tax matters. I also represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.

I founded the firm in 2008 to provide an exceptional level of service to aviation, tax and bankruptcy clients. Our main office is in Naples, Florida where we serve a worldwide clientele.

Previous Employment Summary

I have extensive experience in representing taxpayers nationwide in a wide range of tax matters. Some notable accomplishments include assisting the State of Colorado to develop a uniform approach to taxing general aviation leasing structures, which approach has since been adopted in numerous other states. I have successfully defended dozens of clients facing hundreds of thousands of dollars of sales and use tax exposure or liability.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Everyone should have access to plain-English resources on important legal concepts. Too often people feel intimidated where they do not understand their rights in different situations.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

For quality, ethical and insurance reasons, I gear my practice towards drafting any documents my clients need.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

See Number 2, above.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer for the intellectual challenge, and my desire to simplify complicated concepts for clients wanting straight answers.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have enjoyed a unique blend of work experiences not only in the law but in technology, human resources, and health care. As an entrepreneur with my own firm, I have a particular appreciation for the needs of businesspeople. I have a variety of different interests in music, sports and technology that broaden my exposure and perspective on life.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoy the challenges of navigating the complexities of the tax code to the benefit of the taxpayer. I also take great pleasure in assisting those who are in need of an attorney and coach to help them navigate difficult economic times.

What do you like best about your career?

Most of all, I appreciate the opportunity I have to choose my own path and put a personal touch on legal services. I take each and every client's success to heart and strive always to maintain a reputation for excellence and down-to-earth, practical advice.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am exceptionally fortunate to have a two-person (and growing) staff without whom I would not enjoy nearly the same level of success.

What are your strengths and style?

I try not to take myself too seriously and to listen to my clients' needs with empathy and understanding.

Personal Interests:

Music (I am a drummer and a DJ) and great movies.
