Amanda M. Roberts and Jason P. Stoffel established Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group under the premise that all people involved in domestic matters deserve not only an attorney who zealously advocates on their behalf but an attorney who is willing to provide each client the time, attention and understanding necessary to assist each client in coping with their matter. Our goal is to provide our clients with confidential, aggressive representation based upon integrity, experience and determination.

We understand domestic matters are emotionally driven and as such, our goal is to always listen, understand, and comfort our clients through the difficult process. To achieve the client's goals, Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group has structured the firm so that clients will always have direct contact with a managing attorney. Roberts Stoffell Family Law Group will continue to personally manage all aspects of your case. This personal management includes drafting critical court documents, meeting one on one with the client, and supporting each client’s individualized needs. Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group prides itself in keeping clients advised of all aspects of their case and we encourage open channels of communication.

Because we focus on family, so you can focus on your future, we encourage our clients to seek less costly alternatives to litigation, such as mediation. However, should we be unable to settle your matter without Court involvement, Roberts Stoffel is fully prepared and has vast experience in litigating matters to ensure that our clients attain the best possible results under the law.

Both Amanda Roberts and Jason Stoffel share a passion for domestic law and as such, have dedicated their careers to family law. Each attorney has a comprehensive knowledge of family law and have handled several complex cases including issues related to divorce, property division, domestic violence, custody, spousal support/alimony, child support and child support enforcement, adoptions, terminations of parental rights, guardianships, legal separations, and paternity. Our Chapter 7 Bankruptcy fees are as follows:

$844.00- entire flat fee retainer is paid in one (1) payment.

o $306.00- BK Filing Fee
o $20.00- Credit Report
o $518.00- Attorney Fees

$944.00- if the flat fee retainer is divided into two (2) payments paid within forty-five (45) days of retaining the firm.

$1,044.00- if payments are made in three (3) or more payments.

Amanda Roberts

Education:

Amanda was born and raised in Northern Michigan, where Amanda’s family continues to live. Her parents own and operate their family owned business Robert’s Restaurant (which has been continually family owned for thirty-two (32) years) in Boyne City, Michigan. After graduating from Boyne City High School, Amanda relocated to Hillsdale, Michigan, to attend college.

Amanda received her undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College, where she majored in political science. While attending Hillsdale College, she participated in many community activities including creating community Christmas baskets, volunteering with Michigan Youth in Government and the Salvation Army, International Club, and many civil minded organizations.

Upon graduating from Hillsdale College, Amanda began attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Throughout her time at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, she participated in many activities including: moot court, moot court judging, mock trial, Phi Alpha Delta, Lansing Teen Court, community Christmas baskets, and volunteering with the Salvation Army. Amanda was a member of the Dean's List and graduated in the top half of her law school class.

While attending law school, Amanda also attended Baker College where she received an Associates Degree with a focus on marketing and management. Each year, Amanda participates in various Continuing Legal Education Classes (“CLE”) to stay up-to-date on changes in Nevada family law.

Work Experience:

Throughout undergraduate school, Amanda worked for her family's attorney, Mr. Thomas Schraw, Esq., and was able to gain valuable experience in various fields of law including family law and criminal defense. Amanda was afforded the opportunity to prepare exhibits and demonstrative evidence for trial and sit second chair. It was while working for Mr. Thomas Schraw, Esq., that Amanda learned the importance of good client relations and how to be effective at trial.

Amanda had the opportunity to work for a prestigious family law firm located in Las Vegas. While employed with the firm, she was able to practice in every department of Clark County Family Court in cases involving child custody, child support, termination of parental rights, adoption, alimony, and domestic violence. Amanda managed a full case load, which allowed her to prepare and attend trials, evidentiary hearings, motion hearings, and mediation.

Amanda was one of the founding members of Hanratty Roberts Law Group. Amanda practiced with partner, Kari J. Hanratty, for three and a half (3 ½) years until the firm dissolved. She then opened Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group with her husband, Jason P. Stoffel.

Amanda's Personal Interests:

Amanda has a dog named Mufasa and two (2) cats named Smokey and Bandit. Amanda enjoys a variety of activities including reading and cooking. In addition, Amanda enjoys spending time with family who visit from out-of-town. Amanda, along with her husband, frequently attends concerts and local activities.

Jason Stoffel

Education:

Jason was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. Jason relocated from Dubuque to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to attend the University of Northern Iowa. Jason graduated from University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor™s Decree in Criminal Justice. While at the University of Northern Iowa, Jason was a teaching assistant for criminal justice classes. In addition to obtaining his Bachelors Degree and with the future intent of studying law, Jason completed internships with the Cedar Falls Police Department and the Blackhawk County District Attorney™s Office. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology, Jason obtained his Juris Doctorate at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While completing his legal studies, Jason completed an internship with the prestigious law firm of Fraser, Trebilcock, Davis, Dunlap, P.C. In addition, Jason was on the Deans List multiple semesters and received the certificate of merit, the highest award given in a single class, in Law Office Management. Each year, Jason completes requisite Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes to better assist his clients, including being an annual attendee of the State Bar of Nevada Family Law Convention in Ely, Nevada.

Work Experience:

After graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and passing the Nevada Bar exam, Jason relocated from Michigan to Las Vegas, Nevada. Since passing the Nevada Bar, he has focused primarily in the area of family law. Jason has litigated many issues including: contested divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and termination of parental rights. His experience in family law has been invaluable to his clients. Jason™s knowledge, together with his compassion and understanding, provides his clients with the perfect combination to meet their legal and emotional needs. In 2006, Jason was honored with the Louis P. Weiner Award for his contribution to pro bono work for victims of domestic violence. Repeatedly since passing the bar, Jason has been on the pro bono honor roll for completing 100+ hours of pro bono service each and every year as well as being involved in the Ask a Lawyer program at Family Court. Jason is an active participate in many Clark County Bar Association activities. In 2007, he completed extensive training in the area of mediation focusing on divorce, custody, and domestic violence. In 2009, he was honored as the president of Mediators of Southern Nevada and remains a board member. He also became a Truancy Diversion Judge at Keller Middle School, working with Clark County youth. Jason is a Pro Tem Hearing Master, Truancy Division, with the Eighth Judicial District Court.

Jasons Personal Interests:

Jasons hobbies including traveling, playing poker, watching football especially the Detroit Lions (maybe this year they will win the Super Bowl!), and is an avid music fan (especially of the classic rock band KISS).

John Eccles

John graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1998. Prior to graduating from law school, John passed the Nevada Bar. He has been practicing law in Nevada since he arrived here in February, 1999, focusing almost exclusively on Family Law. In April of 2009, John was honored to be designated as a pro tem hearing master in juvenile delinquency, abuse and neglect, and domestic violence courts. John is also a lecturer on Family Law topics for the Nevada Business Institute, and was an adjunct professor at Las Vegas College in the Criminal Justice and Paralegal programs.
