Sam Aguiar

Sam is the CEO of Aguiar Injury Lawyers. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Sam relocated to Kentucky in 1995 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Murray State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

Throughout his legal career, Sam has continually focused on representing injured victims, obtaining extensive experience as a trial attorney at a young age. At 28 years old, Sam was designated in the Kentucky Trial Court Review as the second most prolific trial attorney in Kentucky for that year. Since that time, Sam's experience has allowed him to grow Aguiar Injury Lawyers and staff the firm into comprehensive teams that have all learned his methods and approaches to handling all personal injury cases with speed, aggressiveness, and responsiveness.

Sam believes that all clients should be treated as "customers" and that each customer deserves "world class customer service". This is embodied in his firm's daily meetings, monthly staff newsletters, and in Sam's constant walks throughout the firm to interact with his staff. This dedicated approach to customer appreciation and response has helped Aguiar Injury Lawyers develop a uniquely effective process that creates a sense of unity between Aguiar Injury Lawyers and its client base that allows them to unite and take on the insurance companies together.

Sam married his wife Janelle in 2011 and has two sons, Evan and Owen. In his spare time, Sam loves traveling with his family, playing tennis, and watching the Louisville Cardinals, New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox.

John Cannady-Miller

John "Terp" Cannady-Miller joined Aguiar Injury Lawyers in August of 2012. After receiving dual degrees in Political Science and Justice Studies from Frostburg State University, he ventured south to Charlotte, NC to start a career in the insurance industry. After working three years for one of the "big three" national insurance companies, John had a very successful twelve year career in the finance industry. John's previous employment ventures have allowed him to acquire beneficial skills and knowledge that translate well into the field of personal injury law.

In 2012, after graduating from John Marshall Law School and successfully completing the Kentucky Bar Exam, John fulfilled a lifelong dream and became a member of the legal community. While at John Marshall, John was a law clerk at Jaffe and Haug, LLC. This opportunity, in a multi-practice firm, exposed John to a wide variety of cases and furthered his interest in personal injury law. John is also a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association, and the Kentucky Justice Association.

The ability to help others during their times of need continues to be a constant requirement in Mr. Cannady-Miller's work. In his time at Aguiar Law, John has seen the devastating and lasting effects caused by extensive personal injuries and he has taken ownership of many high priority cases consisting of fractures, brain injuries, and accidents involving extensive medical billing. The ability to step into your shoes, coupled with a drive and determination to leave no stone uncovered, ensures that your case will be held in the highest regard through its completion.

Mr. Cannady-Miller has also taken a leadership role with the launch of the office's community outreach brand, Sam Cares. The goal of Sam Cares is to build stronger communities through commitment, compassion, and leadership. Sam Cares has formed partnerships with local branches of many national organizations, such as, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Special Olympics, as well as, many smaller community based organizations such as local schools and church organizations.

Outside of the office, John enjoys golfing, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his wife Amanda, and 4 year old son Brock.
