We’re looking for someone to create innovative, top-quality legal information for consumers online. The Legal Editor for Special Projects will join our team of legal editors and researchers in our hard-working, friendly editorial department in Berkeley, CA, to write and edit content.

Responsibilities:

    - Develop ideas for legal articles on various legal topics, including how lawyers and courts handle cases in different practice areas and how clients work with lawyers.
    - Assign these articles to freelance writers, then edit and approve their submissions for publication.
    - Manage a production calendar and ensure all targets and deadlines are hit.
    - Develop legal and financial surveys working with editors from several legal practice areas, to be taken by consumers who have visited our websites.
    - Write articles based on analysis of the results from these surveys, after evaluating them for insightful and salient points. - When appropriate, interview practicing lawyers to supplement the survey results. - Handle several projects at once and work well with staff in other departments.

Requirements:
