Pleasanton based Nolo has a current opening for a Lead PHP Developer. You will be responsible for working closely with the product team to develop new features and frameworks for our websites. You'll also play an integral role in maintaining and improving site performance. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in developing PHP/MySQL products and web services with experience or interest in mentoring development staff as needed.
Ideal Skills:
- 5+ Years PHP OOP programming experience.

Drupal/PHP Engineer
PHP Developers will be utilizing the Drupal API to solve business needs in creative and novel ways. Individuals in this role must be conceptual thinkers yet highly executional; collaborating from the earliest stages through the entire project life cycle. Our Developers own feature development, building community-driven and social networking functionality following Drupal coding and Web Standards to achieve consistent, compelling online experiences. Your code will be running on a high-traffic, high-availability production environment. Best of all, we have fun and are open to new ideas and approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, modular, and manageable production features defined by product team using various design patterns and a combination of contributed and custom Drupal modules.
- Work with team members to establish best practices and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
- Other corporate related activities to help company attend maximum efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
- Senior-level PHP (4/5) skill with strong knowledge of SQL relational databases.

We’re looking for someone who has:

We are looking for a legal editor in the area of family law to join the editors and researchers in our hard-working, friendly editorial department. The new editor will write and edit family law content for the Nolo website, for divorcenet.com, and for other sites, update existing books and articles, and edit new books. The applicant must:
- have a law degree from an accredited law school
- have three to five years’ experience with family law, as a practicing attorney or court staff member
- have excellent writing and editing skills, particularly for a non-legal audience
- be comfortable writing and editing online content
- work well with other people, be able to juggle several projects at once, and be able to meet deadlines
- be capable of supervising others and managing the workflow of multiple freelance editors, and
